IS the corporate blog dying?

An interesting point for any ITPers/ readers of Never Eat Alone. Want access to the press so you can spread the gospel of your project/idea/etc? Blog, since bigger corporations aren’t doing it. And I’ll go you one further – have someone with actual power and insight into your company do the blogging. If all you do is hire some PR flack (unless they’re REALLY savvy) you’re likely to have the equivalent of a political astro-turfing campaign, with all of the attendant issues. If you have a product or idea worth sharing, make sure the person who is sharing it on a blog believes in it. It shines through, and makes you look much better.

Here’s where a startup can grab hold of a medium – one that reaches not only to a target market, but the media as well. (Did you know most journalists are using blogs to find story ideas at least a couple of times a week?)
