Michele over at A Small Victory received some hate mail. A Small Victory: look ma, i'm a slutpublican! She did what the Supreme Court suggests we do in cases of libel, she responded. And... quite well, I might add. I like the idea of Slutpublicans, I think we could fill a party with pro-war women, "Neocons" (for which, read: educated conservative J-E-W-S (one of whom is me)) and throw great parties, offer an opposition to Bush and his retarded domestic policies, an alternative to the Democrats and their "politics of division" and lack of vision, and field a candidate. No? Come on, tell me you wouldn't like some beautiful woman as the president, a telegenic and slightly surgically "enhanced" woman to whom the world's despots would have to bow and scrape. Can you imagine Crown Prince Abdullah's face, meeting his first Slutpublican president at a reception?

"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the President of the United States" and some former stripper single mother who used to go by the name "Candi" strides down the red carpet in six inch heels and...

ok, maybe I'm taking that a bit too far. But the look on Abdullah's face... or Chirac's...

And a single working mother would be a great president. I leave it to better comedians than I am to give you the list of reasons, but I will say that anyone who can hold down a job and raise a kid at the same time could probably juggle both domestic and foreign policy better than this administration.

But I digress. Bill Whittle took on this very topic on the 25th. Anonymous commenting and flaming, as a topic. I've encountered it here many many times. In fact, almost any time I've posted about the War on Terror, trolls come out of the woodwork and start, anonymously, responding to what I've said. Which smacks of a level of cowardice that the Internet facilitates.

Often, I take down those posts, because I'd rather not have to face deleting the trolls as they repost the same drivel over and over and over again. Only once did I encounte someone who named himself that I banned. Because his comments were based on lord only knows what. Like your crazy uncle Albert who believes that there's a vast alien conspiracy. That sort of thing. Someone who quotes Chomsky and Moore as if they are impartial sources, and have some key to the "TRUTH" that I simply don't have, by virtue of not being Chomsky or Moore.

I don't really have an ending to this post other than: Michele, if you want to run on the Slutpublican ticket, I support that. And Bill, I support your contention that commenters should use verifiable names and addresses, or they're just creepy little gollum who want to say their piece with no ramifications. I will stop deleting posts when they're derailed by Trolls. I will not, however, stop deleting the trolls.
