What I don't get
Here's what I don't get.
People like Ted Rall. Ostensibly "Liberal" people. I always envisioned "Liberals" as the progressives, those who believed in those qualities that I believe in - you know - equality of opportunity, that people should have the very basic freedoms of the bill of rights (speech, religion, guns, freedom from intrusive government) and that liberals were also there for the little guy.
Apparently, that "Liberal" is a for-me-but-not-for-thee one.
They say things like:
what happens in reality is that a bunch of right-wing maniacs link to your blog and encourage their right-wing maniac friends, all of whom should be in Gitmo rather than running free, to post insults in the comments section.
and nobody blinks. Nobody. Well, except maybe Michele, but she's a well known Rall baiter. And me, of course.
I say that the war on Iraq was a good fight argued for the wrong reasons, and I get trolled.
He says that Americans should be imprisoned for their political beliefs, and I say that we should be happy a fascist murderer is out of power. And I'm the one with trolls.
Don't seem right to me.

Oh, Ted has trolls. He just never mentions all the negative email he gets and he is too much of a coward to put comments in.
By the way, congratulations on your first troll experience. You have made it!
maybe you have no trolls because people just think you ARE one (that's in all seriousness - i happen to think that 'smallvictory' woman is a troll).
anyway, liberals and conservatives are basically the same thing.
i think if you are going to include political commentary on your site, you're bound to attract trolls. people want to talk about this stuff, and some people have no way to do it other than to throw insults. what i see in your political commentary is that sometimes you haven't researched your ideas thoroughly--sometimes you present only one side of the argument, without accounting for the opposite side of the situation. having read your site for a while, this is the point people most often call you out on. you could remedy it pretty easily, just by anticipating the counterpoints people will throw at you, and stating your position on those points.
