Worked out today. Finally taking advantage of the Penn club. Went to the gym, did a whole workout, then went to my first meeting of the day. It's going to take some doing, but it's a schedule I could get used to.
The day after the meeting was spent doing various administrative tasks in my life, nothing worth reporting.
Following which I went and saw Dakota and Nobi's play. That was good. They did speed the plow, which my mother and father saw with Ron Silver and Madonna (my mom knows Ron Silver from College, and because of him, she encourages me to try acting...) and I saw it with Dakota and Nobi. Emblematic of things in my life, I think.
Following that, I met up with dante at Simone's for some lemonade, and the to Tribe and Bar on A. He was buying, good man that he is, and he's leaving the state. He caught me up on the gossip, that so many of my friends are moving in together and getting married that I'm getting a little scared. So many people aren't going to be around for my birthday that I may end up not having a party. It's August 8. Mark your calendars now. I'll put up an Amazon Wishlist eventually, so maybe some of these friends who are abandoning me can at least send a gift to replace themselves.
At Bar on A, Dante finally met Meghan after missing her at my birthday last year. They liked each other, I think. Ironically, Dante had told me to listen to KCRW's show "Morning Becomes Eclectic" online, because it's like the best thing ever, and when I realized who he was talking about (one of Meghan's friends) I just inwardly shook my head, introduced Meghan to him, and watched him be quite impressed with her. I didn't push Dante to divulge why Kevin has nothing to say to me, but he's moving to Atlanta, so he probably just has a lot on his mind.
On a totally separate note, virtually everyone I know who is a writer or an artist, doesn't realize the importance of copyright registration. I've gotta put together an information packet, or something. Let me make this very clear right here and right now. COPYRIGHT REGISTRATION IS A VERY GOOD IDEA FOR ANYTHING YOU HAVE THAT CAN BE COPYRIGHTED
Yeah, I'm a little bit passionate about that. I don't want to see all my friends get Hendrixed. (His family eventually got their copyrights back but it took lawsuits, from what I remember)
Good lord, I really don't think that any of my friends are going to be around for my birthday. I've just heard that even Ethan won't be. Maybe I'll invite all of you lovely readers to come, so I won't be so alone.
Bertie was not the one who burned me at the show,
apparently. She wasn't smoking a cig.
And to reiterate, Chris-san will be here next week, and I'm open to suggestions as to what to do with him.
And while we wait for Chris to bring his one man show to the states,
if you're not a subscriber yet, don't forget to subscribe and if you are, then tell your friends to do it, too.
How do you let someone down gently?
